This course is intended for students in the first year of the LMD system, in the Material Sciences (MS) field. This course covers the fundamental concepts of mechanics of material point "physics I". 

The program of mechanics of material point "physics I" includes five chapters concerning: mathematical background, kinematics of the material point, relative motion, dynamics of the material point and work and energy as shown in the program.  

This course provides students with the necessary foundations for the preceding years.
